The Faces Behind the Brand
Welcoming Arlene Bunton as Operational Director at 247 Alba Care
247 Alba Care is delighted to announce the appointment of Arlene Bunton as Operational Director — a move that brings one of Scotland's most experienced and respected social care professionals into the heart of our leadership team.
Arlene brings over twenty years of senior experience across the Scottish care sector, spanning direct care management, national policy influence, academic research, and consultancy. She is the founder of Mac Research and Consultancy Limited, a specialist social care consultancy operating across Scotland and England, and i soon to hold a Doctorate in Applied Social Research (Dementia and Ageing) from the University of Stirling — research that places her at the leading edge of thinking on person-led care, intersectionality, and the lived experience of older adults and their families.
Her career has taken her from front-line care home management through to some of the most influential roles in the Scottish sector. As Independent Sector Lead at Scottish Care, she represented the voice of independent providers at national level — sitting on Integrated Joint Boards, the Scottish Government's Dementia Strategy Group, and chairing the Adult Protection Committee Subgroup for Engagement and Communication.
Arlene is a published author, a conference presenter on both sides of the Atlantic, and a co-author of the forthcoming book LGBTQ+ Dementia and Ageing, published by the Dementia Service Development Centre at Stirling. She is a recognised dementia champion and LGBTQ+ advocate, and was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of the Scottish Dementia Research Consortium.
At 247 Alba Care, Arlene's role will focus on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across our care at home and housing support services — ensuring that the people we support receive consistent, person-centred care that meets and exceeds Care Inspectorate standards.
Arlene said: "247 Alba Care is a service I already know well, and I'm proud to step into this role at such an important time for the organisation. My focus will always be on the people we support — making sure our teams have the leadership, the tools, and the confidence to deliver care that genuinely makes a difference to people's lives."
We are proud to have Arlene leading our operational function and look forward to the energy, expertise, and ambition she brings to the team.
247 Alba Care is proud to announce the appointment of Amanda Wright as Registered Manager of our Care at Home and Housing Support services — bringing over twenty years of experience in social care leadership to this vital role within our organisation.

The Heart Behind Our Service
This photo was taken on one of the hottest days of summer 2025. It’s a simple moment that means a lot to our family. Over time, my sister and I made a real effort to spend more time with our mum, taking her out and finding small ways to bring more joy and connection into her life. Those small changes made a big difference. We watched her become happier, stronger, and more confident.
Along the way, we also grew closer to her. It reminded us how powerful care can be when it’s built on love, patience, and respect.
That experience inspired us to start our homecare service with one clear goal: to care for others the way we care for our own family. We bring that same warmth, honesty, and commitment to every person we support.
For us, this isn’t just a business. It’s who we are. We don’t just talk about person-centred care; we live it every day.
